So how do two people who live on opposite sides of the country end up falling in love and getting married? WORK! Given the amount of time we all spend at work, where else can two people who traveled around the country week after week develop a strong friendship that continued once they were no longer working together. Two people who talked everyday arguing over Biggie vs. Tupac, the 49ers vs. the Panthers and In and Out vs. Bojangles completely unaware of what was developing before them. Friends often weighed in asking when we were going to make it “official” and start dating, we would both laugh and remark that we were just good friends. As that friendship grew we started to realize that it was much more, the love we had for each other could no longer be contained in the friendship category. We may have been slow but we eventually got there and the last few years together built on the bedrock of friendship have been the happiest. We can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together. The Proposal: We first visited Puerto Vallarta at the wedding of some dear friends, we fell in love with the city and decided we would make it our go to place for New Years every year. Kent made dinner reservations for January 1 - a romantic dinner at La Palapa Restaurant right on the beach. The plan was to propose at sunset capturing it all on my Go Pro but after a very lengthy dinner that plan went awry. No worries, a quick improvisation and I suggested we ask the waiter to take picture and capture the moment. As we were posing for the picture, I dropped down to one knee and proposed. The phone was on record instead of photo so I could capture the moment to share with all of you. At first, Tamika was confused and thought I was getting down to tie my shoes, she soon realized what was going on and that was it. That day she made one of the happiest people in the world.
We are beyond excited to marry and spend the rest of our lives together and even more excited to do so in front of our friends and family with those closest to us standing beside us.

My Baby Sis is getting married!!!! I am thrilled that Tamika has been blessed to find her “life’s mate”. However, it is bitter sweet for me to have to “step back” as her older sister and allow Kent to take the reigns as her provider, protector and priority. What gives me great comfort is my understanding of the genuine friendship and undeniable love that they share and the confidence that Kent will fulfill this honor flawlessly. Many take for granted the opportunity to bring together two very strong close-knit families through the union of marriage, and the amazing legacy of commitment, stability and purpose it will create for generations to come. Love and Congratulations to you both and “welcome” to the family Kent! I look forward to sharing your special day and being a witness to the beginning of what I know will be an extremely graced life together!Matron of Honor - Tiffany Eubanks-Saunders
Well, looks like she finally did it. SHE’s getting married!!!!! It began on a sunny day August 19, 1979. I was born to this earth alone, well not quite alone but you get the gist. For as long as I can remember Tamika Nicole Eubanks has been there. I remember a time when we were living on Painted Tree and she fell and scraped her knee and I just started crying because I thought she was hurt. Or the time she, in the way only she can told this bully all about himself for picking on me, she turned the tables on him and made him cry. I have so many memories with this woman. I remember sleeping in this same room, a number of times I would roll over from my twin bed onto hers (I was scaredycat) because of bad dreams. I remember Tamika playing Jazzy Jeff (wearing MC Hammer pants) and the Fresh Prince Nightmare on my Street. LAWD! She played it over and over again even when she knew it scared me, I believe she secretly wanted me to sleep in the same bed as her. The time that we were in the back yard and I pretended to fall and pull her pants down then she ran into the house to snitch on me and get me into trouble. Then there was the birth of Alex, her knocking on my door at midnight (and anyone who knows me knows I go to bed at 5pm) and showing me my nephew moving around in her belly. As the years progressed and we both got older she has always been there. Even now always there, good, bad, indifferent she has my back and for that I am forever in her dept. I am very proud of all of her accomplishments and I love her dearly. I love Kent as well but he should know that I will be keeping my right eye on him to make sure he takes treats my sister right. I am extremely happy that these two have found each other. Mwah! Mwah Hugs and Kisses! I love you both to death.Maid of Honor - Tamara Eubanks
Congratulations Kent on marrying such a wonderful person. I am very happy for both of you and can’t wait to attend your wedding. Tamika and I have had some adventures over the years, many of which will never be discussed, and I can say that Kent is marrying a 100% ride or die chick. Please know that on the trip you will have to stop at the bathroom every hour and for snacks every two hours and if the trip or your adventure ends in the early morning hours a bologna sandwich with cheese and yellow mustard will be required. Tamika will be with you the whole way and the whole time and I am lucky to have her for a cousin and a friend. Much love to you both and see you in Punta Cana.Bridesmaid - Christa Hendrix-Kenan
Around 15 years ago I was introduced to a spunky, Southern woman who I became fast friends with. Little did I know that this woman, this lady, this confidant, this friend would become one of the dearest people in the world to me. Congratulations Tamika and Kent! Kent, now you will know the love, the appreciation, the protection and support that Tamika showers on me and all of her friends and those she loves. I am so happy for you two and through your love; I look forward to expanding our community. Love you both!Bridesmaid - Alia Paige
Kent and I have been friends since I can remember. We started off with birthday parties and sleepovers…and to be honest, well, I still find myself passed out on his couch from time to time. Kent has been there for me ever since I’ve needed someone to have my back. He’s been an inspiration and a helping hand when I needed it the most. We have seen our lowest and our highest points in life together and after more than 20 years of friendship, we stand today as grown men and brothers. Tamika, I would like to say that ever since I met you, I knew you were one of us. I honestly have grown to love you and I couldn’t be happier that you two found each other. Kent has brought the sister I’ve never had into my life and I look forward to many more laughs and memories with you both. Congratulations and let the celebration begin!Best Man - Nasser Sunnaa
I'm so happy to see you two happy together, wait did I say that right. Anyway I'm proud of the man you have become Kent, huge congratulations on taking the big step. I look forward to witnessing you both grow together as couple. Tamika welcome to the family. The countdown has begun.Groomsman - Robert Spurlock
Of all the big life events we've celebrated over the years, this tops the list! Congratulations on your wedding. You are truly blessed to have found your life partner in Tamika. I couldn't be happier for you. You bring the best out of each other and couldn't be more perfect for one another. I'm so happy to call you both my friends. May you bring each other as much happiness as your friendship has brought to my life -- and more. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness! Mazel Tov !Groomsman - Byron Chacon
I met Kent in early 2010, a friendship born in an unusual vocational endeavor that in the end has changed the course of all of our lives. As the groomsman with the shortest friendship tenure one might wonder how I made the cut? I’m thinking time in the outreach trenches is measured in dog years. As they say “You never really know a person until you have traveled together” – traveling with Kent and Tamika for weeks at a time over the last several years has been an experience that can’t and probably shouldn’t be put into words but it was the basis for a one of those rare later in life friendships for which I am eternally grateful. Being on the road, sharing meals together and experiencing life crisscrossing the United States week after week made for fast friends. We have cried together, laughed together, visited some highly questionable eating establishments together and laughed a little more. If you know Kent, then you can imagine how that laugh track went. I could wax on poetically forever but I think these two life changing lessons will give you a clear picture of the impact he has had on my life. First, I will forever be indebted to Kent for introducing me to my signature tie knot the Eldridge. Seriously, look it up it is life changing. And second, without Kent I would have used my first two fantasy football picks selecting quarterbacks. Again, both life altering and life saving. You will never meet a more solid, standup guy than Kent, he has been there for me countless times, never any judgment just a quick laugh and some common sense advice. I could not be happier that these two souls I call friends will unite in marriage and I am honored to stand up for them.Groomsman - Jason Mathes

Punta Cana is the name of a region in the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic. Covering about 420,000 m2 (approximately 1,100 acres), the region is home to a coastline of sandy white beaches and to a "town" of the same name.
Air travel: Plan to fly into Punta Cana directly, airport code is PUJ.
Tourist Card: All visitors need a tourist card to enter the Dominican Republic. You can get a tourist card before travel from the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in London, or on arrival at the airport at a cost of US$10 or equivalent. We recommend just bringing $10 per person with you and pay at the airport rather than trying to arrange ahead of time.
Ground Transportation: If you have booked through the website, your transportation and transfers will be handled. Please follow the instructions in your travel documents.
Currency: The local currency is the Dominican Peso. Its value fluctuates between 30-40 pesos per US dollar. Although any currency can be changed into pesos, it should be noted that in some situations it may be difficult to exchange pesos back into your original currency. We recommend exchanging only small amounts of money at a time to avoid any inconveniences. In the area all shops, restaurants, bars, excursion companies accept US dollars, Euros, Canadian dollars, British pounds, but it is a bit cheaper to pay in Dominican pesos.
Do not exchange money outside a recognized bank or exchange house!
